Tour focusing on redfish and bonefish. To win, the angler must catch and release at least one of each. Tour was founded to raise money to fight cystic fibrosis, which the community had recently learned afflicted a local fishing guide's infant daughter.
The mission of the Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival is to create a venue for fly fishermen to meet and share their wide variety of interests and concerns related to the sport of fly fishing and to support the Madison River Foundation (MRF).
Past derbys have had over 2,500 participants (as many as 8,000 including spectators) from all over New York State and much of the Northeast. Held on Whitney Point Lake in Broome County. Prizes awarded every 15 minutes.
